Keybotic Automates Inspection Rounds for International Chemical Manufacturer

May 27, 2024
Chemicals

The customer is the world’s leading chemical manufacturer, present in over 80 countries. Their primary objective was to evaluate Keyper’s autonomous capabilities and enhance safety by minimizing health and safety hazards swiftly identifying potential issues, mitigating future risks, and optimizing operational efficiency.

The inspection focused on achieving 30 specific objectives. These included capturing 7 manometer readings, 9 thermal images to assess equipment temperature, 7 liquid or gas levels, and 7 photographs to document the current state of various plant components.

Gas Leak

During the inspection, a thermal image captured by Keyper, shows a gas leak detection. Detecting gas leaks is crucial for environmental preservation, offering an efficient approach to identifying and addressing issues.

Engine Temperature

In another instance of thermal imaging, Keyper was tasked with monitoring the temperature of an engine, which was found to be at 90 °C. Since this temperature fell within the established safe range, no alarms were triggered.

Manometer

In this instance, the minimum and maximum thresholds for the manometer were set at 55 mm H2O and 70 mm H2O, respectively. When Keyper observed that the needle indicated 81.6539 mm
H2O, it triggered an alert to notify that the manometer reading was outside the pre-established range.

3D Mapping

Keyper also digitally mapped large areas of the facility and created detailed point clouds used for navigation.
